Manager, China Remote Engineering Center
Department: China Remote Engineering Center
Location: Shanghai
Objective / Job Summary:
Lead the China Global Engineering Center (CGEC) to ensure that all services are executed so that high quality, low cost, efficient application services are delivered which result in high levels of customer satisfaction from internal customers.
Accountable for the success of the Center and performance improvement with peers and staff. Serves as China liaison to all IPS GEC internal customers, with primary focus on North American Power customers.
Responsibilities:
l Responsible for the delivery of low cost, high quality, engineering services.
l Provide focus on exceeding customer expectations among all employees. Builds long-term relationships with IPS internal customers.
l Communicates effectively to create open, timely, and accurate information flows across the organization.
l Receive overseas project scope and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.
l Directs all aspects of the systems applications engineering.
l Willing to communicate with North American customers on North American time zone which may require working outside normal office hours.
l Responsible for results, including costs, methods, staffing, training, etc., of China GEC.
l Select, develop, and evaluate subordinates to ensure the efficient operation of a team.
that remains highly competitive in changing market conditions. Develops staff excellence in the use of engineering tools within the parameters of the services provided.
l Continuously improve the following Key Performance Indicators:
1. Staff utilization
2. Growth in billable hours performed by GEC year over year
Increasing % of North America power engineering hours
Requirements:
l B.S. in Engineering or equivalent.
l 6+ years in a professional engineering or technical sales role in controls industry, with a focus on the Power market; 2 + years in direct technical management or supervisory experience (or equivalent) preferable.
l Understand key aspects of Power Business in North America, including knowledge of IPS power applications and product offerings.
l Able to lead a team of 20 to 30 engineering staff.
l Good English language and communication skills, both oral and written.
l Interacts effectively across all IPS functions and regions.
l Demonstrates resilience, optimism, adaptability, and high capacity for change.
l Understanding of North American business and culture; candidate who has spent time living / working in North America is a plus.
