Job Description
- Design and modify PLC programs with control algorithms
- Conduct PLC testing on compressors and SCADA with various communication protocols
- Issuing of Functional Description Specification for PLC Modular Control Unit (MCU)
- Field support during trouble shooting and commissioning
- Generation of commissioning check lists and reports for MCU
- Upload/download speed drive programs and analyse faults/alarms and readouts with service engineers
- Conduct checks on magnetic bearing controller via software program with service engineers
- Fault analysis of PLC and electronic components of the compressor
- Responsible for PLC spare parts and stock levels
- Technical support for MCU operation and field issues
- Assist Product Managers for market launch and feedback on MCU product
- Ensure smooth production of MCU in Guangzhou service centre
- Liaise with Product Managers/Tech Support team to solve MCU PLC programming & testing issues
- Create and maintain MCU client database on a regular basis
- Any other assignments that might be given on a ad-hoc basis
Desired Qualification & Experience of the candidate
- Degree/Diploma in Software/Electronics/Mechatronics/Electrical Engineering majoring in PLC
- Min 5 years hands on working experience with Siemens PLC & HMI programming and communication protocols
- Working experience and hands on knowledge for PLC controls on rotating equipment in the wastewater & aeration industry, preferably with compressors/blowers
- Good understanding on PLC control algorithms and communications with variable speed drive and SCADA
- Experience in conducting PLC & HMI full functional test with documentation preparation
- Hands-on experience on site commissioning & start up/trouble-shooting of PLC systems
- PRC national/Singaporean/PR to be based in Guangzhou, China
- Excellent verbal and written skills in English is a must
- Ability to work under pressure, long hours and meet tight deadlines
- Candidate must be prepared for occasional traveling within China and Asia Pacific region
